Yeah, I know.
Dec. 23rd, 2003 08:43 amI've not been putting up much original content. I'm sorry. I'm tired, and worn-out, and just generally blah. I could have the choicest gig in the world laid out for me right now, and I'd shrug.
So, in that spirit -

1. What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before?
Heh. Halloween on the Castro.
2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't make them. If I'm going to change my behavior, I'll just do it.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes, my hairstylist and friend, Marcy.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Yes. RIP, Rob Curtis. (For those of you who didn't sit through everything, Rob is Z's dad.)
5. What countries did you visit?
I didn't leave the States this year.
6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003?
Stability.
7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
There's a few. April 15. May 13. August 31. October 5.
I'm not saying why. If you don't know, then you can ask me.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Running a marathon.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Ohhhhhh, we had to bring that one up, didn't we? How can I choose? I'll go with "Empathetic failure" for 1000, followed by "Maturity failure" for 600.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I'm still suffering the darned illness. Flu, baby. Also, assorted weakness during marathon training, due to a stomach rebellion.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
My cat, Damien James DevilKitty.
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Z's mom. Though I don't know that "celebration is the right word. "Awe" and "respect" are closer to what I'd say.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
I don't know that this year was salvageable. I'd like to bury it and get on with it, please.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003?
Black with a side of black. Add a couple mandarin collars, and we're good to go!
34. What kept you sane?
That would imply that I stayed sane. I didn't.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Orlando Bloom.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
I tried to keep my head in the sand, because the last thing I needed was political angst on top of the personal dungpile.
37. Who did you miss?
Rob.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
It's a tie between Brian and Sally. Fight it out amongst yourselves, girls.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003
I can keep going.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year
"Oh, you see that skin?
It's the same she's been standing in
Since the day she saw him walking away
Now she's left
Cleaning up the mess he made"
