Yay! Intarweb!
I am here, and awed and humbled by the generosity of everyone who has helped make my landing as smooth as possible. Thank you all, so very much.
I'm settling in, slowly but surely. Everything is unpacked, but few things are up on the walls, due to lack of screws and my basic laziness. I need a new RF converter so I can watch DVDs, but everything else made it just fine.
I spent last night drinking at the bar directly underneath me - the Magnet. The guys who run it are darling and nice and are really glad to have an upstairs neighbor who will not call the cops on them. Well, why should I? They give me free booze...
The musical instrument store around the corner has a couple keyboards I keep looking longingly at. I gave away all my sheet music, but I don't have anything to put in the bay, and I really wouldn't mind re-learning how to play.
I've been walking around a lot - Friday, I walked down to the Whole Foods on 3rd. I took the bus back, but still, a good way to learn the city. I also walked over to the Hyde St. Pier and the Municipal Pier, looked at the pretty boats, and just watched the water for a while.
Today has been Catch Up On Teh Intarnet Day. I've missed everyone. Again, thank you. It's not the ideal situation, but it's much better than it could be, thanks to all of you.
I'll be updating more - I've been composing posts in my head all week - but that's good for now.

Remember, if you freak and want to come back to Minnesota, Just post about it so we can tell you, for example, that it is snowing right now. That should help you want to stay in SF...

It's in the mid-20 range and gloomy here in Minnesota. Snow last night ... feel better?
