Right. Help?

My DVD player will not talk to my TV, because said TV is too old. The RF Modulator I bought to replace the one I thought was frelled won't turn on (yes, I've tried plugging it into different ports in the surge protector). The DVD player seems fine, firing up as soon as I ask it to, reading discs without a problem. This is very frustrating. The RF modulator is super-basic, doesn't have a switch or anything, but I can watch VHS and that routes through the switch that I do have. Also? This set-up worked fine back in MN. So what the hell is going on?

ION, I had an Adventure on BART yesterday, as I went out to Berkeley for the first time evAH to help volunteer for the Theatre Bay Area General Auditions. Not being familiar with mass transit here, I went to the Transit511 website that helps people plan trips and tells them which lines to use, etc. Transit511 tells me to get on the Fremont/Daly City BART, right? I catch the number 30 bus (buses through Chinatown are trip, aren't they?), I get to the station, buy my ticket, go down to the platform, and just then, up pulls a Daly City train. Remember, not from here, haven't quite gotten the geography down. So I hop on. And I manage to find a seat nowhere near the maps that are in every car. I ride for a bit, until I realize that we're going through the Mission, and I think "that's not right", so I find a map, and I realize it's not, so then I get off the bloody train and wait until a Fremont train going the opposite direction pulls up.
rolls eyes at myself forever
At least the volunteering went well.

Date: 2006-01-19 02:19 pm (UTC)Famous last words. I got the map part okay, but I wound up jibba-ing when I shoulda jabba'ed (Trying to find Chinatown of all places) and lo and behold, the Scoundrel ends up in Crackville.
Seriously.
Some guy said "Welcome to Crackville, can I have a dollar?"
I said: "I'm sorry Mr. Crackville Denizen, I'm broke as a joke"
He sez: "That's cool, do you have a credit card"?
It'll be nice when we can come visit.
