Last night.

Okay, so I was contemplating not going to the Pearl Jam concert. I got home after work and crashed out for a few hours, staggering up just in time to get dressed and get over to Heather's house. When I woke up, I felt like hell and didn't really want to go, but I managed to talk myself into it. I'm glad I did.
It cracked my shit up to be wandering around the suite level. Unfortunately, our suite didn't have any food or booze. Feh. But we did have space to dance, which Heather and Erin and I did with abandon.
The opening act, Idlewild, was not great. There was nothing unique or interesting about any of the songs they played, their cover of "You're So Vain" was not good, and it was pretty clear that they were out of their league in a huge venue such as the Xcel Center. Heather thinks that they'd be better in a outdoor-type setting or in a smaller venue like First Avenue. Eh. If she gets the tickets, I'll go, but I won't search them out.
I was amused at Pearl Jam's set, because I remember way back when Eddie Vedder complained about feeling like a jukebox, that the concert crowds just wanted all the songs off of the albums that they knew. I'd say that over half of their set last night was off of their first three major albums: "Ten", "Vs." and "Vitalogy". I'm not complaining, because I got to hear my two favorite Pearl Jam songs ever - "Daughter" and "Better Man", but I did find it quite interesting.
One of the women in our group ran into a friend of hers and scored a couple passes that let us get up waaay close to the band (still on the club level, though). I was geeking out over the equipment (when not drooling over Eddie's arms. DAMN). So much cool stuff. Yeah, I could be a roadie.
Erin, Heather and I danced like maniacs for the last 5 songs or so, since everyone else was using the upclose passes. It was like being back in college (in a good way), dancing at the bar with Heather and Erin.
On our way home, we were propositioned by a very drunk Norwegian in a limo. Hysterical.
So, that was my Monday night. Pretty damn fun.
edit: It seems that the Strib reviewer agreed with me: Pearl Jam concert.
Everyone, check out this site. WAY cool.
