The song meme
Feb. 13th, 2007 02:38 pmList 10 songs that begin with the letter given to you and explain why you picked them. Comment and I shall give you a letter.
amy37 gave me a D. I'm pulling off my iPod, but I can provide linkys if people want.
1. Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover, Sophie B. Hawkins
Come on, how does this song not fit me?
2. Daughter, Pearl Jam
Don't call me daughter, Not fit to...
3. Days Go By, Dirty Vegas
It's a very haunting melody & story, and also has one of the best videos ever.
4. Didn't Leave Nobody But The Baby, Alison Krauss, Emmylou Harris & Gillian Welch
I love the interplay of the voices in here
5. Do You Want To Touch Me, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts
Hell yeah.
6. Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me, Elton John
I first heard this song as the cover that Roger Daltrey performed on the Lost Boys soundtrack. That version is overwrought (as is almost everything on the soundtrack, oh how I love it), but I still love the song.
7. Don't You (Forget About Me), Simple Minds
One of my favorites, and it does speak to my fear of being forgotten (in a very poppy 80's way).
8. Down In It, Nine Inch Nails
kinda like a cloud i was up way up in the sky.
and i was feeling some feelings you wouldn't believe.
sometimes i don't believe them myself and i decided i was never
coming down.
9. Dragula, Rob Zombie
I like this song so much, it's my current ringtone.
10. Drive, Melissa Ferrick
This song is pure sex.
Your mouth waters
stretched out on my bed
your fingers are trembling
and your heart is heavy and red
your head is bent back
your back is arched
my hand is under there
holding you up
Bonus! Don't Take Me For Granted, Social Distortion
I'm your worn-in leather jacket
I'm the volume in your fucked-up teenage band
