May. 20th, 2003 01:34 pmIn the interest of making a non-whiny post, I'll make a slightly ranty post instead.
I'm really not a good corporate cheerleader. I'm barely a team player. We get all this rah-rah stuff from corporate communications, and I have to restrain myself from audibly rolling my eyes. Do I really want a polo shirt with a stagecoach on it? I think not.
So when I get this glowing brochure about how the bank helps out all these programs and arts funding and community programs, the very cranky part of myself says "Yeah, only because it's good publicity." Well, of course. There's little harm in it. But the fact that the brochure cost more to print and distribute than a lot of the grants they give out rankles.
Also, I can't think of any worse punishment than to be stuck with my coworkers for three hours on a boat in the middle of a river in the middle of July. So stop with the reminders and the "team-building", people! Let me do my job and leave me alone!!
