was chock-full of events. Many. Yes.

Friday, I had a stressful day at work and was looking forward to driving up to St. Cloud to party down with the 12 Angry Men cast and the hosting theater. I went home, took a run, stretched out, packed, hopped in the car, and started going down to Z's place to check on the cats prior to hitting the highway. About 7 blocks down, while I was on a bridge, smoke started pouring out of the vents. I pulled over as soon as I could, grabbed my suitcase and CD's, and hustled to the sidewalk. Kneeling down, I saw that the transmission casing was bright orange, and I promptly called 911 and asked for a fire engine. I have never felt more obvious in my life than when I was sitting on my suitcase in the middle of the sidewalk, watching the fire engine come down the street with sirens going and light ablaze. The guys checked out the car, and hosed down the transmission and the catalytic converter. It was determined that the catalytic converter was clogged and therefore overheating. So, I had to push (with the help of the firemen) my car to an appropriate spot, call Zach and ask him to make the 90-mile drive down to come get me, and then walk to Z's apartment. Sigh.

I don't know what's going to happen to that car. I should probably just sell it.....

So, Zach came and got me, we trucked up to St. Cloud, checked into the hotel, walked over to the theater, and joined the party. It was, as always, a very interesting time. I think perhaps Z & I have learned our lesson about these parties (namely, that they go on too long and we get too drunk), because we cut out of there early(ish) and wandered back to the hotel.

One thing hit me at the party - I was talking to a dear friend who just lost his dad to a heart attack. He was talking about his family and his mom and reminding her to eat and all of that and I realized - that's how I know we're becoming adults. We're starting to bury our parents. What a sucky way to grow up, methinks. (Also, what a morbid way for me to think about such things, I know.)

Saturday - woke up, took advantage of the hot tub and sauna in the hotel, and went to breakfast with half of the cast at a little run-down diner on the edge of St. Cloud - the kind that gives you two honkin' huge plates worth of food for $5 and fries the hashbrowns on the griddle with scads of butter. That kind. After breakfast, we came back down to the Cities and... well, didn't do much of anything. We rented the new Jackie Chan movie Medallion. Sooo bad, but it's Jackie Chan, so it's fun.

Sunday - ate out, Z copied sides for the American Buffalo audition, I purchased pointypointy boots at Target, took Z to the auditions, ran, went and watched some of the auditions, watched the Packers lose (sob), visited friends and went to the Market for the karaoke. Karaoke was interesting and mostly fun. I'm hella tired this morning, though....
