I have a wide sterling cuff bracelet I need to decipher. I'd always thought it was Raven or Eagle because it has what looks like wings on either side, and what I took for a bird's head in the center. But there are creatures with teeth and noses between the "bird" and the "wings", and smaller creatures on the very ends of the bracelet that look like Beaver or Porcupine, and the central bird figure has a parrotish beak, rather than a raptor beak. When I turned the bracelet "upside down", I noticed that the central figure and the small ones on the ends have fish tails, approximately where they would be on the body if the body were curved or folded in half. And the "wings" could be fish ladders, with the toothy, nosy creatures at the top. So, Salmon. Except for the central figure, which despite the fish tail, looks like neither fish nor fowl.
The bracelet is signed "EJT", but I've not been able to find a silversmith or jeweler online with those initials.
All by way of saying, "Yay! A place to look up Haida-Tlingit-Aleiut-other NW native symbols!"
