So, here's my favorite of the Billy Talent songs from last night: Try Honesty

Again, they're pretty much made of awesome as it is, but DAMN you should see them live. Talk about reaping the whirlwind - holy hell.

And about Drive By - I know Mikey (Fuckin) Way loves them and put up a bulletin pimping them, and I'll listen with an open ear again tonight, but they honestly failed to move me. There just didn't seem to be any love of the music and the performing, which... why are you up there, then? I understand that the opening slot is a hard one, I get that, but we do want to like you. Help us like you.

Okay. Now to some work, and then to see Drive By, Billy Talent, and MCR all over again. This time, not from the pit. I'm sore enough as it is.

Fuck off. :)

If it were a proper pit, I'd have no problem being in it - well, the outskirts at least. This wasn't a proper pit, and I felt in actual danger a few times.

Um. If you like that sound, here's how to dial it in on your rig...

Gain at about 8, Master at about 2 or 3 (or wherever you can handle the volume), bass WAY up, treble about half up, rear pickup on Strat (the one close to the bridge), volume/tone/tone all the way up.

Erk - I don't know if I want to play like that, but it's a hell of a lot of fun to rock out to at a concert.

Still - thanks! I'll probably use it.

Other good Billy Talent songs are 'Fallen Leaves', 'Nothing to Lose', and 'Pins and Needles.' But my favorite has to be the first of the three. I'm really bummed that they're leaving the tour before it gets out to Philly and NYC - something I only *just* learned.

Cool, thanks. And that's too bad about them leaving before you get to see them - they are truly rockin' live. Like I said, I don't think I would have given them a second glance/listen if first exposure had been through radio or video, but I will get my butt out to see them any time they're here.

I thought Billy Talent was playing Philly?

Dang. I was looking forward to that.

Ok, I'm cleaning up stuff from my desk and going through my piles of CD's tossing programs and crap I don't use anymore when I come across a piece of paper taped into an envelope with a CD-R in it. Of Billy Talent -- 12 tracks. NO IDEA where this came from, who recorded it, who gave it to me. Will have to load it up and listen to it now.

VERA STRANGE.
