By this time, you all should know the drill.

Getting to know you, getting to know all about you...

(This Rich Text thing, btw, is fun. I may be addicted to the shiny newness off it.)
This, ganked from just about everyone...

I'd love to know more about the peeps on my friendslist. Yes, most of us spend an awful lot of time together on the board, and everyone's pretty tired of it by now, but please? For me?

Tell me one little tiny thing about yourself. Something else to round out my picture of you.

1. Do you enjoy the cold weather and snow for the holidays?

Enjoy is a strong word here. Expect is much more in line with my values.

I like the snow. I'd miss it. And the cold? Well, I like it as long as it doesn't dip below 15 F. This 0 degrees stuff is Not Fun.

(Don't even start with me on being from AK. I know how cold it is up there. You don't see me going up there for the holiday, now do you?)

2. What is your ideal holiday celebration? How, where, with whom would you celebrate to make things perfect?

I try very hard not to put expectations on the holidays. I only get disappointed.

That said, I'd love to spend Solstice sitting around a fire, drinking cider and cocoa and playing games with my friends, staying up all night to watch the return of the Orb.

But perfect? I've got Z by my side. What else do I need?

3. Do you do have any holiday traditions?

Sniff. Yes, baking a metric ton of cookies and giving them out to everyone I love. I'm not doing it this year, which is very hard and upsetting. It's all for the best though, and I know I'll be happier for it.

4. Do you do anything to help the needy?

Every time I go food shopping, I make sure to buy a few useful (i.e., no creamed corn) things for the food shelf. My coop has a year-round donation barrel, which is nice.

5. What one gift would you like for yourself?

Like I said, don't need much. I guess I'd like a job that is to my abilities. Does Santa have room in his sack for that?

Lastly, who is surprised here? Anyone?

will kick their asses for using gender-specific
language. Either way, the wife-beater helps.

What kind of postmodernist are you!?

Hmmm... thing about me?

I was on a cheerleading scholarship in college (though that part is pretty well known). I drink iced tea almost every day (also known if we are around each other a lot).

I prefer sleeping on my stomach.

Thing about me: I tried to join a rugby team in college, but I couldn't hang, due to my basic sloth and smoking.

Heh. Smoking did not deter most of our ruggers. We weren't that competitive, though...

Our team wasn't that competitive, either, really. It was the sloth more than anything. Also fear of getting hurt.

I spent a goodly part of my college years doing tech theater in an attempt to get past my fear of heights. (It didn't work, but I found I can work while terrified.) Fourteen years later, I still feel like I should be wearing black jeans and a black t-shirt when I go to a show. (And that whole paying thing? What's up with that?)

BWAH!

a) I volunteer to hang lights precisely because I'm terrified of ladders.

b) I also feel wierd when not wearing all-black in a theater

c) I almost *never* pay for theater, and when I do, it's verra jarring.

Heh.

Most of the tech I did in college that was not stage managing, was lights.

I am scared of heights.

Our blackbox only had a 10' ceiling. It all worked out.

I had the leads in two high school plays, and plenty of supporting roles inbetween. I've never acted since.

Leads in "The Skin of Our Teeth" and an Elaine May one-act, three-actor play whose title I can't remember for the life of me. Of the other plays we put on, I remember Moliere's "The Miser" the most.

I've never actually turned down a request to pose totally or partially nude (though I decided to start saying no a few years back, because -- hello? strangers? with negatives? that wasn't bright. people stopped asking, though).

I think this is because I hate having pictures taken of myself.

(see upthread, fear of heights)

I have a spot of reddish hair right on the top of my head which is perfectly natural. I can't do a thing about it. It's also where most of my gray hair is coming in.

Gender nazis unite!!

Huh. In a seasonal vein, I still own the cassette to the New Kids on the Block "Funky Funky Christmas."

I hope you can still find it in your heart to love me.

I have never had an alcoholic drink. I mean, never. I probably never will.
