Running hills on less than 4 hours of sleep and a mostly empty stomach? Not a way to turn in a good time. Dammit.

On the plus side, I did get up and run. Hills, no less. So there's that. Also, BodyGlide rocks my world, and the Champion Double Dry sports bra lives up to the hype. Not a total wash, but I do need to concentrate on improving my times. I'm faster in the afternoons, but that is not when races are run. Tomorrow is a 6-miler, and I need to keep a steady pace for that. I guess I'll shoot for a speedy run on my 4-miler on Wednesday.

Man, my legs are tired. The massage yesterday helped, but they're still tired. I miss my bathtub.

Speaking of the massage yesterday, I had such a hard time relaxing. All I could think about was the stupid skirt. I'm carrying so much stress that I'm sore from what is one of the most gentle masseuses out there. She's just lovely and relaxing, though, and made sure that I had an appointment right before the wedding.

Being in REI and the Running Room yesterday made me so happy. Especially the Running Room. I love REI, but I can't help feeling a little inadequate in the face of all the outdoor adventure gear. Tents! Kayaks! Mountain bikes! I'm not a camper, and the thought of charging up a rocky slope on my bike doesn't appeal, but that doesn't help in the face of all that gear. Still, being in those stores reminds me that I can legitimately call myself an athlete. Not a fantastic one, but an athlete all the same. Woohoo.

Next weekend promises to be a little more sane. I'm lokoing forward to it.

You amaze me with your running.

I need to find something like that to get me going.

Also -- is the skirt-issue a wedding related thing? I hope you resolve it soon. Whatever you choose I'm sure that you will look and feel beautiful on the day.

Thank you. I have no idea where the passion for running came from, other than the endorphins having their way with me. Seriously, three years ago? Hated running. Thought it was boring as all get out. Don't know why it changed, but I'm glad that it did....

The skirt issue is fixed. I just bought yards and yards of taffeta and tulle and took it to the woman who is making my corset. It should be fine. Thanks, though. It was stressing me out far out of proportion.
