Hot damn. (Running.)

10 miles. I did it. Go me!
I'm still having trouble adjusting to the new shoes (ASICS). I finally have the correct kind of shoe (cushioning instead of stability), but my ankles still remain very displeased. I may have to start taping them so they get some support.
The first two miles were a bear. My left ankle and front of foot hurt, I wasn't going very fast, and I just wasn't sure if I was going to make it. Once I hit the 2nd lake, though, I knew I could do it. Just not at a good speed. That's okay. I was deliberately holding back, because the right knee is still tender (and taped), and the left ankle was indeed giving me problems. I'll do speedwork this week.
Turns out that 3 slices of mushroom & sausage bianca sauce pizza the night before and then 2 slices the morning of is the perfect training food for me. Who knew? Glad to know now....
Next Saturday, 13 miles. Saturday the 21st, 16. As I have other things to do on the 28th, I'll run 10 on Friday the 27th. Labor Day weekend? 20 miles, baybee. Ooof. Good times.
